When we were approached by Coach Tom from Bangkok Dolphin's, whether we would be interested in enrolling Tyler into the SQUAD program, - it was a definite "YES" - from Tyler.
The next thing we knew was Tyler qualified for "Blue Squad" and the ball just began rolling from there on....where 2018 now marks 10 years of Tyler's swimming and training with the Bangkok Dolphin Swimming School.
Pre-squad - Coach Tom - Tyler Qualified 2014
Pre-Squad is the first introduction into squad training. A
nd this was where Tyler's skills and tolerance were put to the test - would he make it? Would he be up to it? He was determined. Tyler's breaststroke imp
roved overnight. Coach Tom grilled Tyler with his breaststroke and bac
kstroke from hereon.
Junior-squad - Coach Tim - Tyler Qualified 2014
When Coach Tim arrived, the squad practice took up even more heat. The kids were driven and were swimming 800 meters each practice. Without a single complaint. The class just kept swimming and swimming and swimming the full length of the pool.
Blue squad - Coach Tim - Tyler Qualified 2015
This was the year that Tyler began representing Bangkok Dolphins in nearly all swim meets all over Bangkok. The dedication that both Coach Tim & Coach Matt put into training alongside the kids were beyond phenomenal. Sun - heat - rain - shine - the coaches were there to push and encourage the kids through each win and loss.
Orange squad - Coach Tim & Coach Matt - Tyler Qualified 2016
This was mainly a butterfly year for Tyler - as this was the remaining stroke that was still a challenge and the beginning of Tyler's swimming competitions with local Thai swim meets apart from the ones hosted by International Schools. Competitions were long and extremely competitive.
Red squad - Coach Tim & Coach Matt - Tyler Qualified 2017
Tyler wanted to qualify for Red Squad so bad by Q2 2016. He never understood the significance of swim strokes or timing. Until during one of the competitions, the relay team lost due to Tyler's timing. He was devastated. But that didn't discourage him. He returned to the swimming practice the following day with even more vigor and determination to improve his swim strokes and time. And win future team relays.
The day he qualified for Red Squad - it was a milestone achievement.
