TYLER  APIPHU  WATCHALAPONG

The annual Thammasart University Annual Foundation swim meet is the grand finale to the close of the swimming competitions in Bangkok.  Taking place at Thammasart Sports Complex, it is a long course swimming competition  (50M pool) amongst local Thai schools and swimming academies in Thailand.

The competitor's minimum age is 7 years old to a maximum 17 years.

This event is considered the toughest and largest event of all swim meets as all participants have accumulated hours of competitions on their backs.  They are all seasoned swimmers and have competed against each other in many previous short courses throughout the year.  Also, the Olympic size pool which adds to the challenge for many.

Coach Tim's words of encouragement

Great work today Dolphins! I can't remember a time when so many best times weren't just beaten but absolutely smashed!  I was most impressed with everyone's perseverance to fight on. Today was an extremely long day especially if you swam from the 200m IM right through to the 50m Free.

Tomorrow Dolphins, same message. Apply what you have practised in training. So turns, fly kick work, breakouts. These are the things that will shave your best time down further.  Congratulations on an extremely successful day 1 and keep focussed for day 2!

Coach Tim - June 24, 2018, Bangkok, Thailand

For Tyler, this was his final swimming competition here in Thailand before he departs back to the United States to continue his studies at Faith Luthern Middle & High School.

Summer of 2018 marks a lot of changes for Tyler and is another milestone met for him in his growing years.

We wish everyone the best of moving forward and thank you all for having played vital parts in shaping Tyler to be who he is today.  Alone - we would not be able to achieve such.

Though Tyler didn't win all the events he participated in - he bested his times in many of the strokes.  This is truly an achievement as he bested his short course times competing long course.

The conclusion I came to was this. Over two meets in 10 days, every single swimmer in at least one swim, either met or surpassed the expectation of what they can achieve in this current time  I felt an enormous amount of satisfaction and pride in watching you all perform the way you did and reap the rewards of your time and effort invested through out this season. For those last 10 days and for this whole season. A massive congratulations to you all - Coach Tim, July 8, 2018, Bangkok, Thailand
