TYLER  APIPHU  WATCHALAPONG

The 2021 LVSC Summer Invite Swim Competition (LCM)

Location: Buchanon Natatorium, UNLV, Las Vegas, Nevada

The meet was one of extreme interest due to the extreme heat ranging above 110F over the whole competition.  Luckily all swimmers were indoors for the in-door pool competition.  Regardless, the day was taxing as senior races commenced at 6 PM.

This was Tyler's first time to compete quite late in the day for timed finals where muscles were all relaxed by the time of competition.  A very interesting meet regardless of the results.  Tyler managed to snag 11th place for 400M free & 15th for 200M free.

Photographer's highlight for the meet (^_^) was trying out a new camera (Sony A7c) and new lens (Tamaron 28-200mm) in a very challenging setting - indoors, limited lighting, fast swimmers.  The Buchanon Natatorium is a pure concrete block building with a high ceiling and windows only on the front entrance side.  In-door lighting is extremely limited as windows are tinted to help with the heat from the sun here in Nevada.

Not too many photos this time around due to limited lighting, swimmers are grouped by their initials broken into

  • A to H
  • I to M
  • N to Z

Lastly, note to all Sandpiper swimmers....WEAR YOUR CAP WITH YOUR NAME.  There are higher chances you will fall into my lens and I'll grab shots of you in action.  Caps without names, only if I can really really identify the swimmer, then I'll photograph....else, caps with names are extremely preferrable.  Regardless, I do hope that you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!!

Excellent swim, Sandpipers of Nevada!!
